Meet Emily
Digital Agromonist
We’re delighted to introduce Emily, who joined the FruitCast team in April as our Digital Agronomist.
Emily plays an important role in supporting our customers across the country, regularly visiting farms to help growers get the most out of the FruitCast app. From sharing new updates to guiding customers on how to use the platform effectively, she helps ensure our technology is practical, accessible and valuable on farms.
With a strong background in the agricultural sector, Emily brings a wealth of knowledge, insight and hands-on experience to the team. Her understanding of growers’ needs makes her a key part of our mission to support smarter decision-making and improve outcomes across the industry.
Emily brings over 11 years of experience in the farming industry, with a background spanning horticultural agronomy, crop science research and AgTech. She began her career managing trials and research projects before qualifying as a horticultural agronomist. Advising fruit growers on crop nutrition, pest and disease management, and crop husbandry.
Recently, Emily has worked in agricultural data analysis and product development, helping translate complex farming data into practical insights for farmers and businesses. This includes the cost of production, crop performance and sustainability metrics. This combination of field experience and data-led thinking makes her a great fit for FruitCast, where she works closely with growers as well as our technical and engineering teams to improve forecasting and support better decision-making.
Emily studied Environmental Biology at Nottingham Trent University, graduating with First-Class Honours. She has also completed several industry qualifications, including BASIS Crop Protection in Commercial Horticulture, FACTS Fertiliser Advice and BASIS Sustainable Land Management. Her interests in botany, soil science and entomology provide a strong foundation for helping growers get the most value from FruitCast’s forecasting tools.
When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Emily said she loves working directly with growers and seeing how technology can make a real difference to their businesses. Every farm is different, and she finds it rewarding to understand the challenges growers face, help solve problems and turn their feedback into improvements that benefit the wider industry.
Outside of work, Emily lives on a mixed arable farm and helps manage a flock of rare breed Norfolk Horn sheep, alongside Suffolk, Texel and Mule crosses. She has a lifelong love of dogs and owns a working golden retriever called Rowan and a border collie called Kim with her husband. She is also a keen gardener, growing fruit, vegetables and cut flowers to exhibit at local shows. When she is not outdoors, Emily enjoys pottery classes, creating ceramic pieces for use around the home or as gifts for family and friends.
Welcome to the team, Emily!
